Trevor Noah Hosts Grammy's Tonight

By Bernadette Idalu
South African comedian Trevor Noah is hosting the Grammy's back to back for the second year running, tonight, February 5, 2023, a proof that talent abound irrespective of race, creed or small beginning of individuals.

Hosting of the show solidifies his presence, once more, on the international stage which he has dominated for quite some years, stamping his presence on the walls of fame of different countries, successfully highlighting diversities and international relations.

This year's edition of the "Grammy Awards" will be telecast live tonight from downtown Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena from 8:00 p.m. Eastern on CBS and Paramount+.

Host's of the Grammy's are expected to be eclectic, diverse and humorous to beef up the shows ratings. Hosts also help to hold the attention of all based on their eclectic nature even as they help to heighten or douse tension of nominees and viewers.

Several of music’s biggest names are jostling for awards tonight in the ninety-one (91) Grammy categories which include BeyoncĂ© who is in the running for the night’s top honors alongside Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar among other nominees for album of the year. Adele joins them in the record of the year competition.

There will be performances by Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Sam Smith, Lizzo as well as special musical tributes to the late musicians Takeoff, Loretta LynqAan and Christine McVie.

Among the new categories of awards for this year's edition are  the video game music composition award which allows in non-musicians.  Actor, Viola Davis and Amanda Gorman, could take home trophies. A Davis win in the best audiobook, narration and storytelling recording category would make her an EGOT — an artist who’s won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award.

This year’s show marks a return to Los Angeles after the pandemic first delayed, then forced the Grammys to move to Las Vegas last year.
