Edo 2024 Election: Engr. Ikhine To Establish Food Processing Plants In Owan If Elected

Engr. Gideon Ikhine has promised to establish a Food Processing Plant at Owan West and Owan East Local Government areas, if elected.

Making this promise during a campaign tour of Edo North, the gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), said the food processing plants aside  cutting down on food wastages, will boost the gross domestic product (GDP) index of the agrarian community through the export of finished products which would go a long way to grow the economy.

Hailed as a "game changer," during his campaign stopover at Sabogida Ora today, Monday, January 8, 2024, the governorship aspirant promised to set up a Local Content Board whose aim is to ensure that  available jobs are manned by the people of Edo State.

Making an earnest request for prayers, he said, "But without your prayers it will be very difficult to heal the land, and that is the reason you will continue to pray for me fervently.

"Building a road is my responsibility. In my government all roads in the state will be motorable all the year round. We will do quality roads that will last, because I am a professional in the construction industry."

If elected, he promised to take development to Owan land, which like a diamond in the rough, when harnessed, is capable of raising revenue to sustain governance due to its inherent large scale cocoa farming. He also promised to develop new cities in the Owan axis of the state.

He appealed to Owan people to distrust anybody, especially politicians who didn't know their history as a people. This he said, was to avoid the error of being led astray, thus missing out on the hopes and yearnings of the people. He promised to address loopholes in local government administration with the view of making it function effectively during his tenure.

Ikhine reechoed his vision for Edo people that he opined would reinvigorate their hope and prepare them for progress and prosperity.

He promised to build a sports center of international standard to be named after Michael Imoudu of blessed memory.

He went candid, advising the youths  not be carried away by the peanuts dropped from politicians tables as doing that will affect their lives in future. He promised to positively engage and build a prosperous future for them.

He appealed to the leaders of the party to choose him as the party's gubernatorial candidate to help them win the 2024 Edo State election for the party.

In their responses the chairmen of Owan West and Owan East Local Government areas, Hon. Frank David and Alhaji Abdullahi Isah respectively thanked Engr. Ikhine for his blueprint. They also appreciated him for presenting himself to contest the election. They assured hima  of their support.
