Open Day In Edo Govt. Schools


Government run public schools in Edo State will on October 19 and 20, 2022, commence an open day session with parents to update them on the academic and cocurricular activities of their children to close the gap between public and private schools. 

Making this known in a release, the Acting Director, Schools Support Services, Mr. Osawe Edwin, who spoke on behalf of the Edo State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Joan Osa Oviawe, said October 19, 2022, will be the open day for Basic and Secondary Schools while October 20, 2022, will be that of the Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) and Special Schools. 

This move is sequel to the ongoing EdoBEST 2.0 reforms in the Basic, Secondary and Special Schools in Edo State.

Dennis Idahosa on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the National Museum Ground, Oba Ovonranmwen Kings Square,  Benin City, flagged off Edo State's reintroduced monthly environmental sanitation exercise, with a call on residents to implement the sanitation exercise.
