A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Asue Ighodalo Esq on Monday December 11, 2023, had a stopover at the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), interacting and fielding questions from journalists while asserting that he is a unifier who aims to bring factional members under one platform.
The aspirant who was received by Chairman, Edo NUJ, Comrade Festus Alenkhe, said he made the stopover based on the key role played by members of the fourth estate of the realm at information dissemination.
While having a robust interface with journalists he mentioned his core practice area, aside his legal practice, an area of interest which has revolved around corporate finance, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, foreign investments and divestments amongst other key areas wherein he claimed to posses transaction and regulatory experience.
He likened himself as a powerhouse with capabilities worthy of leading the state to its desired contemporary Eldorado based on continuance of some good policy tilt of present administration, use of best hands to do the job and reliance on technology to make the state world class.
Asue observed that the state was strategically located which brought up the need to use available arable land for agripreneurship and mechanized farming for instance, to make the state a food basket to ultimately grow its economy and boost Gross domestic product (GDP). This action he said would spur sister states to action.
He also talked about the need to implement a health plan which integrates all persons into its dragnet as the indigent in society must not be left behind.
