SMAGOGA Renovates Goretti College Administrative Block

Members of St. Maria Goretti Old Girls Association, SMAGOGA, (North American Chapter) on Monday, March 10, 2025, commissioned for use, the administrative block of St. Maria Goretti Girls' Grammar School, Benin City.
Addressing elated staff and students of the college, President, SMAGOGA, Lucy Dunmi Ukponmwan, reminded guests and the school community that the renovated administrative building "Is a symbol of hope, a place where dreams are nurtured" hence "It is our collective responsibility that the students feel valued and supported."
Global Publicity Secretary, SMAGOGA, Janet Adenrele said the caliber of people who turned up to witness the commissioning showed its value.
Reflecting on values and excellence of the school which incidentally has been in existence for the past sixty-six (66) years, Adenrele thanked SMAGOGA North America, for foresight and effort at keeping the building standing without changing the aesthetic standard. She observed, "The building has been able to stand the test of time."
National Deputy Treasurer, All Progressives Congress, APC, Lady Omorede Osifo, an old student of the school, showered encomium on SMAGOGA for being proactive. She emphasized that the North America chapter has kept the flag flying over time with its humanitarian ideals.
As part of ceremonies, students engaged in cultural dance display, quiz and brainteasers. They also received health and sex education lectures. The occasion was rounded off with a dinner night.
Some notable personalities, as well as old girls of the school who were on ground included Mr. Emmanuel Okuebor - Edo State Commissioner for Finance; Omozane Ebanehita Sonia - Chairman, State Secondary Education Board (SSEB); Henry Omoregie - immediate past president, Elite Benin Club and a host of others.
In hindsight, it should be known that the renovated administrative block handed over to Maria Goretti school's management was mostly financed by SMAGOGA.
